Jalan Leong Sin Nam

You will find 2 excellent restaurants along Jalan Leong Sin Nam in Ipoh.

One is Restoran Yin Fai Kee. It’s a seafood restaurant. Expect the standard fare of crabs, prawn and shellfish. One extraordinary dish is the Cheese Crab. Nice! Also famous is their Tai Luk Meen (Mee Goreng Besar, as advertised on their banner). You will get ample supply of crispy lard chips (ju yau zhar) – every spoonful will definitely have some. Be prepared to wait.

Another fine place to dine is D’Cuisine. We had a pre-Fathers’ Day lunch there. They serve Set Lunch/Dinner at RM12.90. A wide variety of Western and Asian dishes are also available a la carte.

Sun, 5-Apr-09. Had dim sum breakfast with Ying’s family at Ming Court Dim Sum, Ipoh. The place was packed. Steady flow of customers going in but few going out. Had to be thick skinned and stand by a table to wait.

The food was good – very juicy and succulent. Yum!

Besides Ming Court, there is another less popular dim sum restaurant in the vicinity. But just opposite Ming Court, looms a new and grand building, set to grab Ming Court’s market share. The new place, still under construction belongs to the long time popular big name Foh San.
