Akamomiji Japanese Restaurant

We celebrated Fathers’ Day with Ying’s family at Akamomiji Japanese Restaurant at Medan Ipoh Bistari. We ordered a variety of dishes including soba noodles, bento sets, temaki, maki, grilled shishamo and sanma. The sanma holds special significance to the autumn theme of the restaurant. The private room that we booked was also decorated with autumn scenes. The food was good and there were a few out of the ordinary creations. We topped it off with some warm sake. Nice!

Transfer Domain

author Posted by: YuNiq on date Jun 27th, 2010 | filed Filed under: WordPress

Yingniqniche was self-hosted for almost 2 years using a free hosting plan. I had several problems – occasional server downs, and Akismet spam filtering problem. Akismet requires TCP connection but the free hosting plan disables socket connection due to security reasons. Since my domain needs to be renewed, I decided to try a paid hosting service with more features. I came across one offering USD1.00 per month, 200GB storage space, unlimited bandwidth, 1 website. Here are the steps how to transfer your domain to a new server.

  1. Backup your wp-content folder.
  2. Backup your sql database.
  3. Buy new hosting plan with transfer domain.
  4. Request EPP Transfer Authorization Code from your current host.
  5. Request for domain transfer from new host (make sure your domain does not expire in the next 30 days). This will take a couple of days. You will see your site go blank.
  6. Login to cpanel file manager.
  7. Update wp-content from your backup.
  8. Import sql database using phpmyadmin.
  9. Test your website.

Headlights Mod for Nissan Grand Livina

The Nissan Grand Livina is one of the most popular MPVs on Malaysian roads. I’ve had mine for about 2 years. Trying to stand out from the crowd, I gave the headlights some grey tint to the upper half.

Jalan Leong Sin Nam

You will find 2 excellent restaurants along Jalan Leong Sin Nam in Ipoh.

One is Restoran Yin Fai Kee. It’s a seafood restaurant. Expect the standard fare of crabs, prawn and shellfish. One extraordinary dish is the Cheese Crab. Nice! Also famous is their Tai Luk Meen (Mee Goreng Besar, as advertised on their banner). You will get ample supply of crispy lard chips (ju yau zhar) – every spoonful will definitely have some. Be prepared to wait.

Another fine place to dine is D’Cuisine. We had a pre-Fathers’ Day lunch there. They serve Set Lunch/Dinner at RM12.90. A wide variety of Western and Asian dishes are also available a la carte.
